This is where given a fairly random bunch of ideas, picking the least worst option is seen as a terriffic achievement. I only hope that for the sake of the major financial services company I work for, the email below represents such a brainstorm effect and that the quality of applications was particularly below par…
Now the best bit. This “interesting” suggestion won a choice of prize worth up to £700!!!

“Congratulations to R E from Scheme who has won the first Imagine award of 2006.
R’s idea was to help tackle absence levels by introducing anti bacterial soap and alcohol gel at coffee machines. She demonstrated that the small costs of introducing this, if offset against the volume of absences due to sickness & diarrhoea etc, would more than repay itself even if there was only a very small reduction in absence. Plus people themselves would be healthier!
The idea is now being looked at in more detail.
